Online QCE Tutoring for Students in Queensland
Verified tutors for Queensland students working through the QCE — matched to your child's actual General or Applied subjects.
The Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) is Queensland's senior-secondary credential, set by the QCAA (Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority). Students need 20 credits to earn a QCE, at least 12 from Core courses, and subjects are split into General (which count toward both the QCE and the ATAR) and Applied (which count toward the QCE only, with one exception). It is distinct from the Australian Curriculum, which governs Foundation–Year 10 nationally.

What Is the QCE?
General subjects combine three internal (school-set and marked) assessments with one external QCAA assessment — usually worth 25% of the final result, or 50% in Mathematics and Science subjects — and count toward both the QCE and a student's ATAR. Applied subjects are mostly school-assessed (four internal assessments, or three plus one QCAA-set common assessment for Essential English and Essential Mathematics) and count toward the QCE only.
From 2026, Year 12 graduates must also complete an academic integrity course as part of QCE eligibility — a real, current requirement, not a legacy rule.
Set by QCAA (Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority).
How the QCE Is Structured
Students need 20 credits for a QCE, with at least 12 credits from completed Core courses; General and Applied subjects each contribute up to 4 credits toward that total.
